Maudslay Sculpture #20

11/12/2018

A man pushing an elderly woman in an all-terrain wheelchair with balloon tires at the Maudslay Outdoor Sculpture exhibit at a state park. An installation of white upside-down umbrellas filled with big, pastel colored balls is in the background.
Next summer for the twentieth year there will be installation art in the park. For three weeks thirty or forty sculptures will nestle or hang, stand or sprawl. The instant intrepid artists begin installing their works, passersby will hunt to find them all. Catalogues will be ready for the annual walk-through extravaganza where artists young and old will communicate just what they were thinking. This artist organized, community supported, Cultural Council funded collaboration at Maudslay State Park in Newburyport, MA will be twenty next summer. That is a testament to self-expression, community altruism, and democratic creativity. Special events are being planned. Do come and see.

I am no one and everyone

I have eyes and they do see. My mind interprets the world and I sometimes share what I sense.
