sculpture: large / mid-scale

The works shown below were exhibited in museums and sculpture venues from Maine to Florida to Chicago. Some are static while others have doors that open or are wind kinetic. Potential³x3, shown in a photo at the Attleboro Museum, has also been exhibited several times outdoors where even light breezes make it come alive. The video below was taken at the Wells Reserve at Laudholm in Wells, Maine.
Potential³x3. steel. wind kinetic, 93" x 30" x 7" / 236 x 76 x 17 cm each
"Delicately balanced... the surprisingly light piece turns almost effortlessly in just a breath of breeze."

"While many view steel as industrial material only, Zarins shows how it can be used to suggest water or fire, elements of human personality, and the earth's characteristics."

Symbiotic (2018) has inspired some intriguing photographs by talented people. David Davies captured the sculpture on a foggy day when its mood seemed quietly mysterious or even that it appeared to sweat. What story was it holding back from viewers?

Lance Hidy also conjured emotional views during the Maudslay Outdoor Sculpture exhibit's opening reception.
